Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how BunkerForge (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the BunkerForge web application (the “Service”). We’ve tried to keep it plain and honest.

1. Where Your Data Lives

BunkerForge currently has no backend server of its own. Your account details (name, email, password, state/region, and experience level), your saved bunker designs, and your settings are stored entirely in your own browser using local storage on your device.

• We do not transmit this account or design data to any BunkerForge server, because there isn’t one.
• Because it lives on your device, anyone with access to your device/browser profile could view it.
• Your password is stored locally in plain form and is not encrypted. Please do not reuse an important password. This is a limitation of the current local-only beta.

2. Third-Party AI Processing (Anthropic)

When you use an AI feature (AI Scenario Test, Build Guide / Planning Calculator, or The Bunker Game), the information you provide for that feature — which may include your bunker configuration, selected location, supply selections, free-text notes, and in-game choices — is sent directly from your browser to Anthropic (the AI provider) using the API key you supply, in order to generate a response.

• This data is processed by Anthropic under Anthropic’s own terms and privacy policy. Please review Anthropic’s policies at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
• Your Anthropic API key is stored only in your browser’s local storage and is sent only to Anthropic when you run an AI feature. It is never sent to us.
• Avoid entering sensitive personal information (real names, exact home addresses, financial details, etc.) into AI feature fields.

3. Map & Location Lookups

In the AI Scenario Test you may drop a pin on a map. Map tiles and reverse-geocoding (turning a pin into a place name) are provided by third-party services (OpenStreetMap / Nominatim and CARTO). When you interact with the map, standard request information (such as the coordinates you click and your IP address) is sent to those providers to return the map data. The pin location is approximate and chosen by you.

4. Analytics & Tracking

We do not currently run advertising or third-party analytics/tracking scripts within the application.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in and to save your designs and preferences. We do not use cookies for advertising. Clearing your browser’s storage for this site will remove this data.

6. Your Choices & Data Deletion

• You can delete all locally stored BunkerForge data at any time by clearing your browser’s local storage / site data for this site.
• You can remove your saved API key at any time via the “Set API Key” dialog.
• Because data is stored locally, uninstalling or clearing your browser removes it permanently, with no copy retained by us.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children and is intended for adults (18+ or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

As BunkerForge grows — for example, if server-side accounts or cloud sync are added — this policy will be updated and the “Last updated” date above will change. Material changes may also be surfaced in the app.
